Quinta de Santiago, located in the northwest of Portugal, has been owned by the Santiago`s family since 1899. In 2009, from the determination and passion for wines of the son and grandchildren of the then owner, the “Grandmother” Maria Santiago, was born the project Quinta de Santiago “boutique winery”, combining the tradition and knowledge of the oldest generation with modernity and enthusiasm of the younger generation.
A family that promotes respect for nature, privileges sustainable practices in the vineyard and grape-respecting vinifications, using minimal intervention in the cellar to achieve the variety grape maximum expression.” Creating wines, which faithfully express the identity of the Portuguese autochthonous grape variety – Alvarinho – and the “terroir” of Monção and Melgaço ( Vinho verde Region) – is what moves us. Sharing new paths and interpretations of the variety on our territory is what feeds our souls.”
